About this Design

The elevation of the 2011 Capricorn Yanchep Telethon Home by In-Vogue embraced the use of mixed materials combining, shingle tiles, face brick, render, compressed sheeting, glass and steel with a unique tiled skillion roof design which complements the coastal location. Also featured is a deep set, raked window reveal to a double height stair well window, bracketed with curved walls on either side. This Deco inspired element of the home provides a bold visual anchor for the rest of the elevation. Establishing that solid foundation & sense of permanence suited to this family based design.

The home has four bed, 2 bath with home theatre, sitting room, office & an open plan living area with independent zoned areas suited to a variety of an family combinations. Parents have a separate adult retreat which encompasses the entire upper floor, including a luxury ensuite, balcony and sitting area. The kids are not forgotten and will have the run of their own wing, which includes beds, bath and study area. Communal living in the hub of the home features a huge open plan living area which enables views from the kitchen right through to the custom built pool and alfresco area at the rear of the home. For the cinema buffs or sports lover the home theatre accesses directly from this space, close enough to be involved but far enough away to control any sound issues. Perhaps the area which will best utilize the beach climate is the outdoor living zone, covered alfresco & a built in BBQ area relate directly to the opulent landscaped pool area, which will be just the ticket for those lazy summer afternoons.

This year's 480 sqm site, generously donated by Capricorn Village Joint Venture, called for some obvious layout responses. Most importantly too take advantage of the ample elevation of the site and capture the views west from the upper floor. The close proximity of the coast & the dominance of the lot within the village ensured a strong & positive response would be called for from the design team, something we believe this year's home has delivered.

This year's home will boast an abundance of green accessories, kindly donated but Green Energy Systems and Renewable Logic, these include Solar PV cells to assist with the homes power requirements, gas boosted solar hot water, multiple solar tubes to allow natural light to internal of the home, a smart roof vent system which links with the reverse cycle air conditioning system to minimize your heating and cooling costs.
